Yahoo! Go version 3.0

A lot of you have probably used or tried Yahoo! Go 1.0 on their mobile phone. Version 1 of Yahoo’s mobile application isn’t Java but it was cool to use on my Nokia N80 mobile phone. A while back, I received an email from Yahoo saying they have to discontinue Yahoo Go v1 (I was actually using 1.5 on my cell phone) and that I should download Yahoo Go v2.0

So I went to the go.yahoo.com page, which talked about this fantastic and new carousel interface, and downloaded version 2.0. Yahoo Go v2.0 has been developed from ground up as a J2ME application. Apart from having this new interface, it now has some location specific features like maps and directions (which I am unable to use anyway since Yahoo hasn’t got a detailed map for my country).

The carousel interface does really make it easier to navigate. You can easily access your Yahoo! mail, Flickr photos, local weather report and news. There’s just one thing that I’d really like to see in Yahoo! Go version 3.0 — Yahoo Messenger! I want it back. I miss being able to do Yahoo! instant messaging on my mobile phone when I’m not in front of my computer.

So please Yahoo, bring back Yahoo Messenger in Yahoo! Go v3.0, please!
