Gameleons’ Formula Extreme

Gameleons Formula Extreme 1You might think that this Java mobile (J2ME) from Gameleons is just another one of those racing mobile games for the mobile phone. Well, you’re wrong! This mobile game from Gameleons has an added twist that will keep you and your friends wanting for more — multi-player via bluetooth!

The Formula Extreme from Gameleons has different modes of play. There is warm up mode wherein you can practice your skills as a Formula 1 race car driver. Then there are two single player modes — Season 2007 and Grand Prix.

The game offers a choice of 17 racing tracks that are actually based on existing ones. Three sceneries exists with a variety of weather conditions. There are 11 teams available on game and 5 different sound tracks you can listen to while playing.

There are some options for setting up your racing car like tires and spoilers. It would have been nice if the game can offer a whole plethoria of tuning options like engines, on-board computers. More like build your own formula race car. Of course the options you choose should have an effect on the performance of your formula 1 car on the race track.

Now here’s the exciting part that I would really like to try out — multi-player via bluetooth. This should get you and your friends playing at each other. I think that one more nice feature is being able to play against each other over the mobile phone network or wifi. Maybe even an added twist of having an online site to keep track of the performance of each player.

On the graphics side, the Formula Extreme looks okay on the Sony Ericsson K750 but I wasn’t able to check it out on newer and higher resolution mobile phones.

You’ll like this mobile game if you’re into car racing games. Some screen shots below:
