Free online multi-player on your mobile phone – Warning!

A couple of days back I found this free online multi-player game for the mobile phone that let’s you play the game for free as a basic service. Today, I tried out the premium service that gives you some extra features for a small fee.

TibiaME, created by CipSoft, came out with this bright idea of creating an MMORPG. What makes it different from the other multi-player online games? TibiaME runs on your mobile phone! What’s the other thing that’s different? It’s basic game play is freely available.

Having tried the free game, I liked the game and the idea. It made me curious enough so I tried the premium service. To access the premium service, you need to install the TibiaME Gold client to be able to access the extra features like the map so I replaced the Basic TibiaME client on my mobile phone with the TibiaME Gold client. But you can still use the Basic TibiaME client for the premium service. You just won’t be able to use some of the extra features.

One feature available on the premium service using the TibiaME Gold client software is an automatically drawn map of the world you are exploring. With the Nokia N80′s high resolution, the map was clear enough and certian colored dots have different meanings on the map. The map is a very welcome feature if you want to really explore the world of TibiaME.

Another added feature is access to other areas (islands) of the game world which is not normally available on the free account. Plus you’ll be able to use all the portals to move around the game.

Being able to chat with other players while playing the mobile game is cool but I suggest you either get a mobile phone with a keyboard or fast fingers to do the typing. :-) You can also access a list of online players if you need to.

I was playing the TibiaME mobile game but had to stop.

So I want to give you a warning if you intend to play TibiaME on your mobile phone:

This mobile game is highly addictive! If you want to continue playing this game, I suggest you bring an extra battery for your mobile phone or better yet your cell phone charger to be able to continue playing the game.

Darn, I haven’t even gotten to explore the full TibiaME map and my battery is out!

Oh, and you better be ready with your wallet full of cash when your mobile phone bill arrives if you don’t have an unlimited data plan. :-)

Wait, I think that’s my mobile phone getting fully charged so off to the TibiaME world for me. See you there!

Note: This game is a recommended solution to MMORPG fans who wants to be able to play even while mobile. In fact, I think I see it now — “swarms of people going to the coffee shops to use their wifi-enabled mobile phones to play TibiaME.”

I used to be addicted in the Desktop version of Tibia. http://www.tibia.com

It is a very addictive MMORPG, but when I started playing World of Warcraft I realized how Tibia is small and badly produced. It is just so simple compared to WoW, in all terms: history, quests, “what to do in game”, etc (I wont say “graphics”, because Tibia is 2D and WOW 3D).

About TibiaME, unfortunately I cant play it in Brazil.
