Gameleon’s 4×4 Extreme Rally 3D Java mobile game

Java mobile games in 3D is the wave of the future! I have been playing Gameleon’s 4×4 Extreme Rally 3D for several days now and this mobile game’s finish line is something I would want to see.

The 4×4 Extreme Rally 3D Java mobile game from Gameleon is a sequel to its 4×4 Extreme Rally 2006 mobile game. I think that you should really get a copy of this game for your cell phone especially if you’re into racing games on your mobile phone.

For starters, this mobile game is in 3D, as the name implies One of the best things that is different in 4×4 Extreme Rally 3D compared to it’s older version 4×4 Extreme Rally 2006 is the race view. The in old mobile game you would have to play it from a top view angle which makes turning in the right direction sometimes confusing during the race.

In this new mobile game, 4×4 Extreme Rally 3D, you are able to play the game from a “back of the car” point of view. This allows you to see the race track in a manner that you can easily turn the vehicle in the right direction. You also have the option to change the way you view the race track at a press of the button. If you’ve play any of those 3D race car games on the PC, you know what I mean.

The 3D graphics on the Motorola V6 is good enough considering that I’m actually playing a 3D game on a mobile phone. The game experience is exciting although it would have been nice if the speed of the game was faster (I guess it’s a trade-off decision between graphics and speed of the game using a mobile phone platform) .

The game levels offer a lot of playability. You have three modes of racing — Time Trial, Race and Cup. Here’s where it get’s tricky and fun. When you are about to start a race you will have to choose your own 4×4 vehicle. The 4×4 vehicle’s performance is determined by 4 factors — maximum speed, maximum acceleration, type of tire and turning capability.

When you race across a track, you can get points depending on your standing when you finished the race. You can use these points to improve / tune your vehicle. In turn the performance of your vehicle will raise your chances of getting better standings. Confused? I guess the best way to “un-confuse” you is to go and play the mobile game.

I have become a fan of this game especially because it’s so simple to play and provides enjoyment especially when you want to kill off some time (e.g. while on a trip or waiting for someone). In fact, I’ve created extra “killing time” just to play the mobile game.

Now it doesn’t stop there. What’s even more enjoyable about this Java mobile game is the fact that you can play the race with someone else! It uses Gameleon’s multiYou! bluetooth technology. MultiYou! enables multiplayer gaming on Gameleon’s Java mobile games using bluetooth.

Anyway, more on multiplayer Java mobile games later. I’m trying to take a look at them and find out what is really out there in terms of multiplayer games for Java mobile phones.

This holiday season, you can probably setup a contest among friends or co-workers to determine who’s the best 4×4 driver on the “mobile track”. A (LAN) multiYou! party of sorts

Hmmmm, with wifi-enabled mobile phones increasing, it seems like a cool feature to be able to play this mobile game over wifi. Come to think of it, that would mean that I can race with anybody who has the game over the Internet — this would really be cool! What a really cool feature for 4×4 Extreme Rally 3D 2008! And maybe Gameleon can sponsor a 4×4 Extreme 3D 2008 challenge over the Internet!
