Ojom’s Cubes puzzle mobile game

Cubes mobile game screenshot 1This Java mobile game from Ojom is a unique twist to the Tetris game concept. For one, Ojom used pirates in the game to add some interesting scenes.

The object of the game is to retrieve Willy’s (the pirate character) treasure whilst he throws them from a dock. Similar to the Tetris game, you must control the objects to line them up but in Cubes the boxes must be of the same color. Once the boxes got lined up, they explode and out comes the coins that you get to collect.

One very entertaining twist to the whole thing is that since the boxes are dropped into the water, they tend to be a bit bouyant and hard to control sometimes bouncing off each other.

Willy (probably unaware of what might happen) will sometimes throw out gun powder into the sea. On this occassions, you can try to manipulate where the gun powder drops so that when it explodes a lot of boxes will release a lot of coins.

One thing I noticed is the realism of the graphics of the game. The physics of the water effects and box movement under water are quite good. The background music is also amusing.

The game levels provide entertainment and fun but the real challenge is if you start to loose a level and have to restart. This time the speed seems to be faster which becomes harder to successfully finish.

Overall the game should provide you with hours of fun if you like puzzle type mobile games.
