Well, another mobile phone has just been officially announced by Sony Ericsson which seems to be beefing up it’s phone portfolio in time for the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The Sony Ericsson W760 has some nifty features that includes version 3.0 of the Walkman® player.
The Sony Ericsson W760 is a tri-band HSDPA mobile phone equipped with GPS so that you can find your way. You can choose between GoogleTM Maps Mobile or WayfinderTM Navigator.
For the Internet savvy, the W760 mobile phone has WAP 2.0 and XHTML using the Access NetFrontTM v3.4 mobile browser. Messaging support includes EMS, SMS, MMS, Microsoft® Exchange ActiveSync and Email (POP3 and IMAP4).
Multimedia features include support for MP4 (AAC, AAC+, E-AAC+), MP3, M4A, 3GPPTM, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, WAV, G-MIDI 1, SP-MIDI, RealAudio® 8, iMelody, XMF, WMA, 3GPP (H.263, H.264), MP4, RealVideo 8, WMV, GIF, JPEG, BMP, WBMP, PNG, SVG Tiny 1.2, Adobe® Flash liteTM 2.0 and RTSP according to 3GPP.
The Walkman® v3.0 player provides great music through the stereo speakers on the front. It has a unique Shake control system to change track on your mobile phone. Easily identify unknown songs with TrackIDTM, use SensMeTM to choose song by mood.
It has a 3 Megapixel camera with 2.5x digital zoom to shoot photos and can also be used for video recording. It has a 262K color capable 320×240 pixel display screen for watching videos.
The Sony Ericsson W760 mobile phone takes mobile gaming to the next level. It allows you to play games that uses the mobile phone’s motion sensor and you can play the games in horizontal or vertical mode. The mobile phone is also 3D enabled so you can play your favorite 3D mobile games.
Maximum JAR size is unlimited but real limits will depend on available storage. The Java-enabled mobile phone has support for Java MIDP 2.1 and the following JSR’s:
