Google has announced the official launching of the YouTube for Mobile web site which has been available for test access for sometime. The YouTube for Mobile allows mobile phone users to play / view YouTube videos on their mobile phones.
The expanded features include the following:
- You will now be able to access the millions of videos already available on the YouTube web site including the videos that you have uploaded.
- You can access your YouTube account, including your Favorites and uploaded videos, from your mobile phone. Also allowing your to rate and comment directly from the mobile website.
- Uploading your videos from your mobile phone will be available on the m.youtube.com and www.youtube.com sites within moments thereby allowing you to share videos even from your mobile phone.
- Localized version of the YouTube for Mobile is available for the UK, Italy, France, Spain, Netherlands, Poland, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, New Zealand, Germany, and Russia.
You can access YouTube for Mobile at http://m.youtube.com.
Plus if you have a Sony Ericsson k800 or w880, Nokia e65, n95, n73, 6110 navigator or 6120 classic, you can download a J2ME YouTube application (currently under beta) that you can use to access the YouTube for Mobile web site. You can download the mobile Java application from http://m.youtube.com. If your mobile phone is one of those mentioned above, you will be able to download the Java midlet application. If not, you can access the YouTube for Mobile website using your cell phone’s web browser.
