Armada Kingdoms screen shot 1A new massive multiplayer online game (MMOG) has been brewing for a while and has been officially announced. The game is currently under beta.

The new MMOG that is currently undergoing beta is called Armada: Kingdoms and is scheduled for public release on the 2nd quarter of 2008. The multiplayer mobile game will be supported on Java-enabled mobile phones.

The multiplayer mobile game allows players to own a town and form kingdoms together with other players. The objective of the mobile MMOG is to manage your kingdom’s economy, expand and ultimately wage war with your opponents. The game is both competitive and cooperative at the same time and has a strong community aspect to it.

The mobile game’s persistent world allows players to interact with you while you’re logged out, a distinct difference between classic MMORPGs. “Armada: Kingdoms” is truly 24/7 and its short session game play allows you to take an active part of the game in a non-intrusive way; playing 10 minutes a day is enough to manage your town yet the game offers a deeper experience for more dedicated players.

Being developed by Bloomsix for a year now, the concept started circa-2001 and several prototypes were created but it is only now that the MMOG will be launched because of the availability viable mobile phone subscription plans and the powerful multimedia mobile phones being churned out to the market. Joris Verschoor, one of the founders of Bloomsix is inviting everyone to participate in playing the mobile game during the beta stage.

I can’t wait to have a look at it. I have already sent an email to participate in the beta but still haven’t got any response.

Meanwhile, here are two other screenshots of the Armada: Kingdoms multiplayer mobile game:

This is one mobile phone game I might actually get! I like the fact that you can play it for 10 minutes a day and still be doing just fine in the game against everyone else. One question though, does it cost anything and if so how much? any idea? This sounds like it will be a really cool game!
