Android SDK update in time for World Mobile Congress

It has been a couple of months since Google has provided an update for Android, the open mobile platform that uses Linux and Java, but wait no more ‘coz Google has just released another update in time for the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona.

The current Google Android SDK update has now arrived after a previous presentation to UK developers several days ago and news of the development of an Android plugin for NetBeans.

The newest Android release is M5-rc14 compared to the previous release of M3-rc37a includes a variety of new features, including extensions and improvements in the framework API, redesigned applications and UI, and enhancements to the SDK development tools.

To take advantage of these new features, you need to upgrade your existing Android applications to the M5 SDK. Upgrading your Android development environment from M3 to M5 is straightforward. However, there are a few special extra steps that you need to follow for this upgrade. You can read the update guide at the Google Code web site.

Enjoy!
