For those of you who likes to be on the bleeding edge, NetBeans IDE 6.1 is now available for download. Before anything else, I would like to congratulate the NetBeans folks for not only garnering the developer.com product of the year but now also the Jolt awards for the best development environment.
NetBeans v6.1 Beta includes the following:
- JavaScript Support
- Semantic Highlighting
- Code Completion and Type Analysis
- Quick Fixes and Semantic Checks
- Refactoring
- Performance Enhancements
- Up to 40% faster startup
- Smarter parsing so that code completion is faster
- Less memory consumption
- Spring Framework Support
- New MySQL Support in Database Explorer (of course! I hope they incorporate everything needed to manage MySQL ;-))
- Ruby/JRuby Support Enhancements
- Java Beans Support (back by popular demand)
- JSF CRUD Generator (back by popular demand)
- Javadoc Code Completion
- Sharing Projects (AKA Sharable Libraries)
- New Update Center Modules for ClearCase, AXIS and SOA
Now with all those greatest features don’t you think it’s time to change to NetBeans? Come to think of it, I haven’t heard from the guys at Undroid about an updated Android plugin for NetBeans. Wish we can hear from them soon.
