I love this mobile game, this is one game that I would add to my list. I have to admit that I like playing billiards — think of the entertaining ways to apply practical geometry in everyday game play. Really this is one game that relaxes me. Another would be playing Wimbledon 2008.

The graphics of the mobile Java game is very good and I have to admit I was not sure at first if it was going to be any good considering that Gameloft would have to place a whole billiard table on a small mobile phone screen. How will they get those ball numbers printed and readable on the small screen — the solution was actually simple and elegant, press the “8″ key and the numbers are displayed. Although if you play pool a lot, I doubt you’d ever have to do that.

Taking a shot at the cue ball is also very simple and takes away the complexity of having to make a shot on a mobile phone even if you’re in transit or on the move. You can even control where you want the cue to strike the ball to make it curve or jump for instance ala Efren “Bata” Reyes.

Several modes of gaming are available — instant play, career mode and two players. The two player mode is a welcome addition since it allows you to play head to head with another person. The instant play enables you to play a quickie during idle moments perhaps.

Career mode brings you to the world of pool. Travel around the world to challenge other champions in playing pool. Win money and start piling up your riches. You can track your achievements, buy equipment and even learn new tricks.
