Looks like Motorola is pouring some real resources into getting an Android mobile phone out into the market. They are in the process of expanding its current 50-man Android development team into a head count of about 350.

Our new T-Mobile G1 toy will not be complete if we won’t be able to hack it using the latest SDK. So just in sync with the just release T-Mobile G1 mobile phone, Google has released version 1.0 of the Android SDK. You can get it from the Android download page. Even though, I haven’t got a T-Mobile G1, I’m downloading the SDK right now. :-)

Just read some leaked info of the very, very soon to be released T-Mobile G1 Android-based mobile phone. Looks like it will have a 3.1 megapixel camera but no video capture. No stereo bluetooth either. Supports only 65K colors on a 480×320 screen. No corporate email and gmail is required. You can read more at the TmoNews post.

T-mobile has recently opened up its developer community site called devPartner. The T-mobile developer provides a way of bridging the gap between it’s subscriber base and the mobile developer community. The developer program, dubbed “stick together®”, provides support for mobile phones used by its subscribers and a testing and certification process for mobile applications.

Nokia has launched it’s “Calling All Innovators” global developer contest to motivate the growth of mobile applications around the world. The contest focuses on three categories — eco-challenge, emerging markets, technology showcase. Up to USD 150,000 is up for grabs.
