Android based Kogan Agora delayed indefinitely
Well it looks like we won’t be seeing a second Android mobile phone anytime soon. Kogan Technologies, the company poised to introduce the second commercially available Android-base mobile phone, has just announced that it will be delaying the delivery of the Agora and Agora Pro mobile phones indefinitely.
The delay was due to very valid potential interoperability issues. One physically conspicuous point is the resolution of the Android based mobile phones. As you may have already know, the Agora and Agora Pro would have had a 320 x 240 pixel screen resolution.
Personally, I think the 320 x 240 screen resolution in mobile phones is just itching to be replaced as the standard resolutions for mobile phones. In a time when unlimited mobile data plans, netbooks, UMPC’s, MID’s, mobile phones should have a much higher resolution than 320 x 240 pixels.
I respect the way, Ruslan, CEO of Kogan has decided to change things rather than sell mobile phones that will have problems in the future. I do hope that they’d be able to recuperate the costs of making the necessary changes and still provide a magnificent Android based mobile phone sporting the Kogan brand.
Ruslan has also announced that those who have pre-ordered the Android based mobile phones will be refunded their money. Refunds will be processed within 7 days.
In the mean time, I guess we will have to wait on which Android-based mobile phone will earn the title “The Second Android-based mobile phone” introduced commercially.
Here’s the link of the full announcement of Ruslan.
