After months of waiting (for us) and months of eye-popping adrenaline coding (for the participants) the list of Google Android Challenge winners are finally out. My congratulations to the winners of 275,000 (cab4me, CompareEverywhere, Ecorlo, GoCart, Life360, Locale, PicSay, Softrace, TuneWiki, Wertago) and 100,000 USD prices.

With Nokia already owning about 48% of the Symbian company, they have made an offer to buyout the other owners (Sony Ericsson, Samsung and others). This is in addition to its recent buying spree — they just bought a Social Network startup called Plazes.

Some pretty exciting things have really been happening in the mobile space. Nokia has just launched its Mobile Games Innovation Challenge to dare developers to ‘rock’ mobile games world. The Challenge is open to both Symbian and J2ME mobile games with great prices in store for the winners.
