Opera has announced a “turbo” version of its Opera Desktop, Opera Mobile and Opera Devices SDK. Turbo Opera is geared towards business customers which allow for savings in bandwidth consumption. According to Opera, up to 80% decreased in bandwidth consumption can be attained using Opera Turbo.

Android SDK 1.1 release 1 now available

android robotThe Android development team has just made available version 1.1 release 1 of the Android SDK. This is inline with the recent updates to Android devices providing new features and functionality. API changes are quite minor. Several items have been fixed, some new features for the Map and dialer have been added, plus several API changes. You can check out the release notes.

It looks like Qualcomm is positioning itself to become a leader in the growing mobile graphics market with it’s current acquisition of AMD’s handheld business that includes several graphics and multimedia technology assets.

Skype for your mobile is currently under beta and available for several Nokia, Samsung, Motorola and Sony Ericsson mobile phones. I’ve downloaded and tried it on my Nokia phone.
